OCMA/CMA takes pride in the many organizations and events throughout the community in which we are involved. OCMA/CMA plays an important role in these organizations to improve the health of our community. Below you will find details on these organizations and events and how you can become involved.


Orange County Medical Reserve Corps

The mission of the Orange County Medical Reserve Corps is to enhance the emergency preparedness and response capabilities of Orange County through advanced registration, organization and training of volunteer health professionals who can be readily mobilized to respond to a major emergency or disaster, whether man-made or natural, when the existing health infrastructure is overwhelmed and unable to provide needed medical care in a timely manner.


AccessOC: Solutions for Specialty Care

Access OC is improving the health of vulnerable citizens in our community by providing access to medical specialists in a high quality, cost-effective manner by developing a series of innovative, interconnected specialty care initiatives. Contact Jennifer Shimabukuro at 949.457.7700.


OC AIDS Walk

There are currently more than 1 million people in the United States living with HIV/AIDS. They are men, women and children and they are our friends, families and neighbors. Orange County AIDS Walk will “Step Up To The Plate” at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Saturday, May 16th to continue the fight against this devastating disease and to raise much needed funds for all those affected by HIV/AIDS in Orange County.


Developmental Screening Early Intervention Demonstration Project

The Children and Families Commission of Orange County, in coopertaion with the Orange County Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, is piloting a new project to benefit Orange County's young children by enhancing pediatric practices to address developmental concerns in children consistent with the AAP policy statement for surveillance, screening with standardized tests such as the Ages and Stages and PEDS and referral for evaluation and early childhood services.


Emergency Medical Care Committee

The Emergency Medical Care Committee’s mission statement reads: To act in an advisory capacity to the County Board of Supervisors and to Orange County Emergency Medical Services on all matters relative to emergency medical services in Orange County. Contact Greg Boswell at 714.834.3500.


Emergency Medical Services Fund (EMSF)

The Emergency Medical Services Fund (EMSF) is a County program administered by the Orange County Medical Association (OCMA) that provides reimbursement to physicians for uncompensated care provided through a qualified Orange County emergency room.


Health Funders Partnership of Orange County: Creating a Healthy Orange County

The mission of the Health Funders Partnership of Orange County is to improve local health by enhancing the impact and efficiency of health philanthropy and health service delivery in Orange County. Contact Ruth Kurisu, Managing Director, at 800.706.2861.


National Children’s Study

The National Children’s Study will examine the effects of environmental influences on the health and development of 100,000 children across the United States, following them from before birth until age 21. The goal of the study is to improve the health and well-being of children. Orange County Coverage Initiative (Medical Services Initiative - MSI)

The Orange County Medical Association contracts with the county to encourage doctors to participate in this much needed program. The program now includes preventative care due to an infusion of grant money totaling $50 million over a three year period.


Orange County Health Needs Assessment: Partnership for Health

OCHNA is the states’ primary source for health data needs which collects vitally important health needs information and works with their clients to integrate the information into real world applications by providing consulting services and individualized attention and focus. Orange County Partnership Regional Health Information Organization (OCPRHIO)

The Orange County Partnership Regional Health Information Organization is a community-wide collaboration of healthcare providers seeking to improve the quality of care through health information exchange.Contact Katherine Johnson at 310.401.0345.


Pretend City Children’s Museum

Pretend City, The Children’s Museum of Orange County, is a non-profit organization which will stimulate and nurture the intellectual and creative curiosity of children in an innovative community environment. OneOC

OneOC’s mission is to accelerate nonprofit success. OneOC's services expanded to include training, consulting and business services, it was evident that all these services “accelerate nonprofit success”.
